I recently had the pleasure of visiting Camphill Communities Ontario to present a congratulatory scroll recognizing their successful Seniors Community Grant from the Ministry for Seniors and Accessibility.
Through the 2026-27 Seniors Community Grant program, Camphill will receive up to $25,000 to support its Creative Aging in Community project. This initiative will provide accessible arts, wellness, and social programming for older adults with developmental disabilities across Simcoe County.
The project includes activities such as pottery, fine arts, fabric arts, culinary programming, gentle movement, and social café gatherings. These programs will help participants build new skills, reduce social isolation, and remain active and connected. Programming will be offered in fully accessible spaces in Angus and Barrie and will be available to both seniors already supported by Camphill and fee-for-service participants.
It was wonderful to meet with the Camphill team and learn more about the meaningful work they do to support older adults in our community. Investments like this help ensure residents have opportunities to stay engaged, build connections, and enjoy enriching experiences close to home.
