Rosemary Gosselin has been selected as the recipient of the 2023 Province of Ontario Senior of the Year Award for the Town of The Blue Mountains. The Senior of the Year Award was established in 1994 to honour one outstanding local senior in each municipality in Ontario. The nominee must be over the age of 65 and have enriched the social, cultural or civic life of the community.

Mayor Andrea Matrosovs and Town of The Blue Mountain Councillors presented the award at the June 19 Council Meeting. “Rosemary is a deserving winner of the Senior of the Year Award. She is a founding member of the Climate Action Now Network, she has previously served on the board of the Blue Mountain Watershed Trust, and for years has championed sustainability initiatives within the Town, from our landfills to our cemeteries,” said Mayor Matrosovs. “Her compassion for our environment and community is always a balance of advocacy and a spirit of collaboration to find solutions to challenges together. On behalf of Town Council and the community, I’d like to thank Rosemary for her contributions and congratulate her on this award.”
