On Sunday May 14, 2023, I had the pleasure of attending the inaugural event of the Simcoe Sikh Society at the New Tecumseth Recreation Centre in Alliston.
The event, the Gurmat Smagam, celebrates the Sikh Heritage Month in Ontario (April) and offers Ardas, a prayer for establishing the Simcoe Sikh Society.
It was a wonderful celebration of Sikh culture, faith, music and food. I look forward to working with the Simcoe Sikh Society in Simcoe Grey as they spread their message of peace, diversity and inclusion in our region.
