Simcoe-Grey Heritage Organizations Receive Provincial Funding

Operating grants will support groups in Alliston and The Town of Blue Mountains

STAYNER, ON – Brian Saunderson, Member of Provincial Parliament for Simcoe-Grey, announced today that 2 local heritage organizations are receiving funding from the Ministry of Citizenship and Multiculturalism.

“Thank you to the Ministry for providing funding from the Heritage Organization Development Grant program to these two local historical organizations,” said Brian Saunderson, MPP for Simcoe-Grey.

• Sir Frederick Banting Legacy Foundation – $1,545
• Town of The Blue Mountains Historical Society – $723

“Heritage organizations play important roles in helping tell the story of our communities and remind us of who we are, where we have come from, and all that we have accomplished together.”

“Our government is proud to support 157 heritage organizations across Ontario through the Heritage Organization Development Grant,” said Michael Ford, Minister for Citizenship and Multiculturalism. “This funding provides annual operating grants that are designed to promote public awareness of Ontario’s rich and diverse heritage.”
