Remembrance Dinner Collingwood Legion
A special presentation by a former Mayor and Simcoe County Warden was a highlight of the annual Remembrance Dinner at the Collingwood Legion on Saturday November 5th.
Terry Geddes presented Branch 63 President Rob Graham with a flag that flew on D Day at Juno Beach.
MPP Saunderson talked of the history of Remembrance Day in Collingwood, remembering a time when the WW1 and WW2 Veterans would march down Hurontario Street, Collingwood’s main street, to the applause of family, friends and visitors.
Terry Geddes said it was his supreme honour to present the Juno Beach Flag to the Collingwood Legion. “When I think of our veterans, I think of the Cenotaph which is hallowed ground, and Collingwood’s Honour Walls where we can pay tribute to the military service of our citizens on any day of the year.”
