Peacekeeper’s Park Angus
On Friday July 7th, my colleague, Laura Smith MPP for Thornhill, and I had a tour of Peacekeeper’s Park in Angus with Bob George, a veteran of 3 Peace Keeping missions and one of the driving forces behind the Park’s creation and it’s ongoing enhancement and upkeep.

The Park is dedicated to the recognition and memory of the approximately 160,000 Canadian Armed Forces who have served and the 162 who gave their lives while on UN sanctioned missions from 1947 to present.
The Park is a collaborative effort between the Township of Essa, Royal Canadian Legion Branch 499 and the Central Ontario Chapter of the Canadian Association of Veteran’s in United Nations Peacekeeping.
As one of the Peace Mission Plaques states, “The more we sweat in peace, the less we bleed in war”.
Thank you to all the brave men and women of the Canadian Forces who give their sweat, and their blood, on peacekeeping missions around the world.
Lest we forget.
