Funding will help book and magazine publishers reach new audiences, grow their businesses and create jobs

COLLINGWOOD, ON:The Ontario government is supporting Simcoe-Grey through an investment of $11,000 to showcase and promote the province’s talented authors across Canada and internationally.
Beech Street Books Ltd. will receive $11,000 through Ontario Creates, an agency of the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Gaming. This funding is part of the government’s plan to protect Ontario by supporting workers, businesses, and communities in the face of ongoing economic uncertainty.
“Our government recognizes the important role local publishers and authors play in creatively sharing homegrown stories and fostering thriving, diverse communities across Ontario,” said Brian Saunderson, MPP for Simcoe-Grey. “This support will help Beech Street Books continue to expand its reach internationally and showcase Ontario’s innovative authors and publishers on the global stage.”
This grant is being awarded through the Ontario Creates Publishing Marketing & Discoverability Fund. The fund provides eligible Ontario companies with funding to participate in international activities that support company growth and produce measurable business and market development results. Primary activities supported include targeted sales trips and attendance at international market events. In Collingwood, this funding will enable Beech Street Books Ltd. to increase the discoverability and sales of authentic voice books produced by Beech Street directly through specific distribution and wholesale vendors.
