Ontario Government Supporting Critical Community Programs and Services in Simcoe-Grey

A local non-profit organization is receiving $41,800.00 in funding

Collingwood – The Ontario government is providing non-profit organizations in Simcoe-Grey with $41,800.00 in funding this year through the Ontario Trillium Foundation’s (OTF) Seed grant stream. The funding will help provide local residents better access to the critical programs, services, activities and spaces that make Simcoe-Grey a great place to live, work and play.  

“Our government believes local non-profit organizations, like Theatre Collingwood, enrich the lives of people in Simcoe-Grey and play an important role in building a strong community and prosperous economy. That is why our government is proud to support these programs and service providers through OTF’s Seed grant stream,” said Brian Saunderson MPP for Simcoe-Grey.  “Organizations such as Theatre Collingwood are pillars of our community. This support will enable them to deliver essential programming and better serve the people of Simcoe-Grey, making a positive difference for years to come.” 

OTF’s Seed grant stream helps organizations build resilience and enhance their ability to deliver programs and services that directly benefit community members. Grantees can use their funding to support organizational planning, pilot a new program and/or build their organizational capacity to plan for future programs and services for the people of Simcoe-Grey.

  • Theatre Collingwood

“In Simcoe-Grey and all across Ontario, non-profit organizations are delivering critical programming that is helping people train for new careers, stay active, learn new things, and connect with their community,” said Stan Cho, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Gaming. “This Seed grant funding will help ensure these non-profits can build their capacity and prepare for the future so they can continue to support the needs of communities across our province today and tomorrow.”

  • The Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF) is an agency of the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Gaming. Its mandate is to build healthy and vibrant communities across Ontario by investing in community-based initiatives and strengthening the impact of the province’s non-profit sector. OTF programs support the arts, culture, heritage, sports and recreation, human and social services, and environment sectors across the province. 
  • Since 2018, over $718 million has been invested in more than 6,900 projects, creating more than 8,800 full time jobs and generating more than $1 billion in economic benefits to communities across Ontario.
