AUDIO – 60 seconds HEADLINE:
On Friday, local MPP Brian Saunderson met with staff and Mayor Scott W. Anderson to break ground on the Haley Park Revitalization project, thanks in part to the Township receiving a $498,200 Community Building Fund Capital stream grant from the Government of Ontario and the Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF) in late 2021. The project will include an accessible baseball diamond, enhanced parking facility and landscaping.
“The Haley Park Revitalization Project is a great example of a municipally lead project to enhance existing infrastructure to be accessible and inclusive with upgraded and new facilities. Congratulations to Mayor Anderson, Town Council and staff on this initiative and on receiving this significant grant to improve their community. I look forward to visiting Haley Park when the work is completed” said MPP Saunderson.
In addition, accessible playground equipment will be installed to complete the park revitalization project. The park is centrally located in the hamlet of Loretto and is anticipated to be used by multiple organizations and resident. Thanks to the $498,200 Community Building Fund grant, people of all abilities will be able to access and enjoy the baseball diamond and playground located at Haley Park. Once complete, Heley Park will continue to meet the recreation needs of all Loretto residents for years to come.
