Honouring Blue Mountains’ Fire Chief Stephen Conn

Simcoe-Grey MPP Brian Saunderson presented a Certificate from the Province of Ontario to recognize The Blue Mountains’ Fire Chief Stephen Conn being awarded the Ontario Medal for Firefighter Bravery. Conn was awarded the Ontario Medal for Firefighter Bravery on Thursday, June 22, 2023, by the Honourable Elizabeth Dowdeswell, Lieutenant Governor of Ontario.

“I have spent much time thinking about the constant risks and dangers that first responders face. Our province has benefitted greatly from their service, and today, we recognize the remarkable bravery of 34 police officers and firefighters from across Ontario,” said Dowdeswell.”

His quick action upon arriving first at the scene of a developing house fire on January 11, 2022 without doubt saved the life of one person and most likely a second person as they tried to escape from a second storey window.
