Collingwood Pride
Festival Parade
The weather cooperated for the Collingwood Pride Parade on Saturday July 15th. The Pride Collingwood parade is a major attraction at the weekend event.
“I was with Simcoe-Grey MP Terry Dowdall in a classic convertible driven by Greg Taylor. The top was down and we were very glad the rain held off! It was an incredible parade with lots of colourful floats and a big, boisterous crowd lining the downtown streets. This festival certainly delivers the message that love wins in Collingwood. We are an open and inclusive community.”
Flag Raising Ceremony
The 2023 Collingwood Pride Festival held a flag raising ceremony on Friday afternoon in front of the Collingwood Library to officially kick off this summer’s party. MC Michelle Kemper and Andrew Siegwart from the festival’s organizing committee welcomed everyone before raising the flag.
“Founded in 2017, The Rainbow Club is a grassroots community-based organization serving the needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgendered, queer or questioning individuals and all collective friends, families and allies (LGBTQ+) across the South Georgian Bay Region. Our mandate is “Connecting our Community”, we do so through social events, fundraising, educational programming, and much more.”
The Pride Collingwood party is underway.
