Blues Win

Friday night is hockey night in the Town of Collingwood, a tradition that dates back generations. In days gone by fans used to pack the downtown arena on Friday nights to cheer on the Collingwood Cubs, Green Shirts, Shipbuilders, Glassmen and now, the Collingwood Junior A Blues.

The Blues have been ranked number one in Canada this season and the team had another strong game beating the Markham Royals 6-1 at the Eddie Bush Memorial Arena on Friday October 14th. The Blues had a 2-1 lead after two periods and poured it on in the third to break the game wide open. The team’s record is now 12 – 1 this season.

Collingwood’s Marcus Lougheed had a pair of goals and the CCI Fighting Owls Marching Band was on hand to provide a stirring soundtrack for the home crowd.

The Friday night hockey tradition continues … it is all about community and last night was another great night at the rink!
