Alliston Good Shepherd Food Bank

The Good Shepherd Food Bank in Alliston held an Open House on Saturday December 3rd to raise awareness of the ongoing need for donations of non-perishable food items, cash or cheques, especially at this time of year. The event was also attended by members of New Tecumseth Council.

The Good Shepherd Food Bank’s service to the community dates back to 1994, when local citizen Guy Belanger began to collect fruit and vegetables from his own and his neighbors’ gardens to be delivered from the back of his truck to local families in need. The organization continues to grow to meet today’s demands, but as always, relies on community assistance.

Thank you to Operations Manager Jaime Karsch (far right) for the invitation and for coordinating this event and the regular day-to-day operation of this important organization.

The reality is the need for food donations never stops. The mission of the Good Shepherd Food Bank in Alliston is to provide nutritional food assistance to individuals and families encountering difficult financial times. Staff members care and respect the dignity of all clients. Visit the Alliston Good Shepherd Food Bank online to learn more about the services provided and how you can help. Thank you for sharing.
