Admissions to Sunset Manor in Collingwood Resume

The Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care will now permit admissions to resume at Collingwood’s Sunset Manor. This will allow new residents to move into the long-term care facility for the first time since the ministry ordered a freeze on admissions in June 2021. At that time, new admissions were suspended following the ministry identification of areas of what it reported to be non-compliance following a series of inspections.

Recent inspections prompted the ministry to lift the admission ban at the Simcoe County operated Collingwood facility.

“This is very good news and recognition of the dedication and hard work of the administration and frontline staff at Sunset Manor. Opening Sunset Manor to new admissions is critical to meeting the needs of seniors in the South Georgian Bay region” said Simcoe-Grey MPP Brian Saunderson.
