Additional Funding for Local Simcoe-Grey Hospices
The Ontario Provincial Government is providing $13,726,100 in additional one-time funding for nursing, personal support, and other services delivered to patients in 84 residential hospices across the province.
This funding is intended to support and sustain existing residential hospice capacity, through an increased operational funding rate for ministry approved and open beds.
The following facilities in Simcoe-Grey will receive the following:
- Matthews House Hospice – $236,500 – a 45% top-up increase from base funding. Total 2022-23 funding: $1,286,500.
- Hospice Georgian Triangle – $236,500 – a 45% top-up increase from base funding. Total 2022-23 funding: $1,286,500.
Simcoe-Grey MPP Brian Saunderson recently visited Matthews House Hospice in Alliston to announce they will receive $1.128 million from the Ministry of Health, over 3 years, to fund community outreach projects to assist those living with life limiting illnesses and their caregivers.
